How To Break Sleep Paralysis

In order to break sleep paralysis, your best and most reliable bet is to use the fact that sleep paralysis only affects your voluntary muscle system, not your involtary muscle system.

For instance, sleep paralysis paralyzes your arms and legs but not your heart. Your breathing is semi-involuntary and that’s the trick we can use to escape sleep paralysis every time.

The only way your body knows if you’re asleep is if you act like you’re awake. So to send a signal to your body that your mind is really awake, simply change your breathing pattern to something other than the normal sleep breathing pattern you’re already in.

By the way, you can use sleep breathing as a sleep command to trick your body into falling asleep and enter waking sleep paralysis.

When you change your breathing pattern, such as breathing much more deeply and longer, for about 15 seconds your body will notice the change and automatically exit sleep paralysis.

This is much easier than trying to move a digit or limb which most books recommend. Moving a digit or limb isn’t very effective especially in 100% sleep paralysis where your voluntary muscle system is inaccessible.

In the next post we’ll cover why sleep paralysis is ideal for lucid dreaming and OBEs

If one relaxes and accepts the state without tensing, one awakens.

Incubus(sleep paralysis) symptoms are same as fainting (syncope) symptoms and so Incubus(sleep paralysis) is caused by fainting (syncope) .

at least twice a week i awake and can only move my eyes. each time this happens i change my breathing to wake up and it feels like a huge weight comes off my chest, i was wondering if i would come out of this state if i just fell back asleep and relaxed.

Physiological symptoms of sleep paralysis are the same with those of syncope. Thus, sleep paralysis is caused by syncope. For experts in cardiovascular diseases, sleep paralysis or syncope is a common symptoms of cardiovascular disease【1】. For a long time, due to the ignorance of physiological knowledge of syncope , ischemie cerebrale , slow beat, fast beat and so on, psychological illusion in people’s sleep generated by such physical symptoms i.e. the nightmare really has puzzled the psychologists, therefore they put forward a wide range of wrong even absurd views on the nightmares, which both have no scientific basis, and could not be confirmed, even more were not self-consistent. For example, a medical expert Debacke drew the correct conclusion that the anxiety-dream resulted from ischemie cerebrale according to the physiological symptoms of the anxiety-dream of a boy of thirteen. Freud called such view was a ” medical mythology” in the book of Dream Psychology. Most important, the experiment confirmed the idea. For example, a place in country , there is a ”haunted” bed which makes people have sleep paralysis or syncope every night, and it is this fact that the pillow in the bed is too high will reduce cerebral blood flow. 【1】 http://www.medhelp.org/posts/Sleep-Disorders/Nocturnal-fainting/show/11612

I’ve been into lucid dreaming for a while but never tried it myself. I’m frequent into getting sleep paralysis and I’m often afraid of it. The last last time I had this issue, I was half lidded and I heard a witch cackling. It terrifies me and I don’t really want to enter that state again…(I’m thirteen, it’s alright to have fears… No matter what age. XD) Whilst entering the lucid state, do we have to surpass the sleep paralysis first?

Just got out of sleep paralysis and oddly enough I could move my tongue but obviously incapable of speech and awoke to find my pillow was wet

  12. sgroclkc says:

There are two main types of scary phenomenons in sleep(nightmare and sleep paralysis) that are caused by two main scary symptoms of cardiovascular disease {palpitation and fainting (syncope)}.

Okay I’ve been researching how to wake from sp cause I’m about to start lucid dreaming. I read that attempting this is an easy way to have sp, and one of the foolproof ways to automatically wake is to scrunch your face(as if smelling something awful) a few times. Do you know if this method works?
